Change Address Car Registration

By law, you must keep your car's registration address current. The state will give you twenty (20) days to perform the change once you've moved or changed to a new address. Not only is it required, but you'll also receive the renewal reminders via mail, so it's important to keep the address current. 

Change Florida Registration Address Online

Steps

  1. Visit Florida's GoRenew.com page to get started OR VISIT YOUR LOCAL COUNTY TAX COLLECTOR'S WEBSITE.
  2. You'll be asked to enter one of the following personal details:
    1. Driver license number OR 
    2. License plate tag OR
    3. Car's VIN. 
  3. The next step is to enter your DOB (date of birth) AND last 4 digits of SSN.
  4. Follow the instructions on screen.
  5. Prepare to pay the Fee to have your address updated. All credit cards accepted, as are debit cards or checks (have banking information ready).

Change Florida Registration Address In Person

Steps

  1. Find the location of YOUR COUNTY'S TAX COLLECTOR OFFICE OR visit a license plate agency.
  2. After visiting the link above, click on your county. Then look for the section called Tax Collector Website.
  3. Once inside your county's tax collector office website, look for a section called Driver License or Motor Vehicle Registration.
    • Note: Every county's website is different. 
  4. Look for the mailing address and prepare a visit to have your auto registration address changed in person.
  5. There will be a Fee to have your address updated.
